McWhirter Studio is a creative direction agency founded by Alex McWhirter. Originally from London, Alex began his career in New York as the Art Director at V Magazine before establishing McWhirter Studio. His projects focus on working closely with distinctive collaborators to present a narrative that observes human interaction, be that with our environment or with each other. He has collaborated with Visionaire, Suzanne Geiss Gallery, Cultural Traffic, Magnum Photos, Nike, and Calvin Klein, where he worked closely with Raf Simons and Pieter Mulier on campaigns including Calvin Klein Jeans, Calvin Klein Underwear, and the 205W39NYC Collection Book.

Alex publishes Public, an annual arts and fashion magazine with an emphasis on experimental work. Offering a unique perspective on subjects in life, each subject is archived and its theme never repeated. Issue 3 launched this year, and features five portfolios by photographers Siân Davey, Frank Lebon, Guinevere van Seenus, Tom Wood, and Jack Webb, with styling contributions by Gary David Moore and Roxane Danset. Public is stocked at art bookstores worldwide, including Dashwood Books NYC and Yvon Lambert Paris.
